Storage Devices

A data storage device is a device for storing information (data). A storage device may hold information, process information, or both. USB devices, floppy discs  all are portable devices.

Flash Drive  -
A Flash Drive is a small, portable flash memory card that plugs into a computer USB port and functions as a portable hard drive. USB flash drives have less storage capacity than an external hard drive, but they are smaller and more durable.

Floppy Disk -
A floppy disk is a soft magnetic disk.Unlike most hard disks, floppy disks are portable, because you can remove them from a disk drive. Disk drives for floppy disks are called floppy drives. Floppy disks are slower to access than hard disks and have less storage capacity and they are much less expensive.
Zip Disk -

A high-capacity floppy disk drive. Zip disks are slightly larger than conventional floppy disks, and about twice as thick. They can hold 100 or 250 MB of data. Because they're relatively inexpensive and durable, they have become a popular media for backing up hard disks and for transporting large files.
Cd -
Cd is a type of CD disk that enables you to write onto it in multiple sessions. One of the problems with CD-R disks is that you can only write to them once. With CD-RW drives and disks, you can treat the optical disk just like a floppy or hard disk, writing data onto it multiple times.
Removable Hardware drive -
Is a type of disk drive system. Removable disk drives combine the best aspects of hard and floppy disks. They are nearly as capacious and fast as hard disks and have the portability of floppy disks. Their biggest drawback is that they're relatively expensive.
Memory Stick -
The Memory Stick digital data storage is designed to become a standard storage and transfer media. The 8MB Memory Stick has a minimum of five times the storage capacity of a standard 3.5 inch floppy disk. It is available in 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, and 128MB storage sizes.
Micro Drive -
microdrive is an extremely small hard disk that can fit in a CompactCard memory slot, enabling digital cameras designed to use CompactFlash memory cards to gain larger storage.
